wild redwoods retreat

Would you like to sit with a redwood tree? One that grows wild, far from parking lots or pavement? Would you like to stare up at the impossibly high crown, while crystal dewdrops catching the sunlight fall from stories above?

Time will shift. After what seems like an eternity, sitting so quietly in the softest moss listening to the silence, you’ll begin to hear. You’ll begin to listen to what these ancient beings are communicating to you, along with all the other creatures in the forest.

Do you long for enough time to hear, to listen and to understand? Has it been too long since you’ve been truly quiet in the woods, without the expectation of an activity like hiking or mountain biking?

Are you desperate to unplug for a few days to simply be? Are you seeking clarity and healing in your own life and deeper connection with your inner wisdom and magic?

Join master life coach and expert naturalist Carla Robertson and life coach and Reiki master Becky Bacon for Listening to the Wild Redwoods, a magical four day retreat in the wilds of Northern California's Humboldt Redwoods State Park.

Humboldt Redwoods spans an area of 53,000 acres, almost twice the size of San Francisco. 17,000 acres of the park is old-growth redwood forest—the largest expanse of ancient redwoods remaining on the planet.  This place is different from Muir Woods or other pockets of redwoods - it is primordial, wild and expansive.  There’s room for just you and a redwood to get to know each other, without any other humans in sight.

Camp amidst these ancient trees with Becky and Carla or if you prefer, stay at the rustic and cozy Meyers Country Inn conveniently located just one mile from the campground.

Have you ever learned a foreign language? First you hear a jumble of syllables— you can’t even tell when one word ends and the next begins. After weeks of study, it’s as if a switch is turned on and suddenly the words and meanings start to become clear. The same thing happens when you slow down and sit in the forest, except it doesn’t take as long because nature is your first language— you’ve simply forgotten how to speak it fluently.

Come slow down to listen to the wild redwoods. Reacquaint yourself with the rhythms of nature and the clarity within your own being. Take time to retreat deeply and emerge renewed and with a fresh vision for your life ahead.

You’ll leave with a new perspective and tools to bring more serenity and wildness into your daily life. You’ll feel realigned to your deeper purpose and better connected with like-minded women with whom you can continue your journey.

Retreat $295 includes:

Thursday evening snacks, libations and campfire ceremony, s'mores and more

Friday and Saturday experiences - early morning meditation walks, tracking the wild within and without, woodland fairy mandalas, writing in nature, guided visioning, night magic walks, and plenty of time for deep quiet to listen to the redwoods.

Sunday morning Reiki healing, coaching, reflective time and closing

…and more- we promise an experience that will offer deep immersion into nature and time to heal, reconnect and transform.

You’ll provide the meals you love. Cook out, or bring ready-made food. We will have snacks and treats and hot chocolate, tea and coffee.  Even if you’re staying at the Meyers Country Inn, bring a mug for hot drinks! Bring a camp chair too. Participants will receive more details and a packing list.

Add $50 if you camp with us in a multiple campsite setting under the redwoods. Campers bring a tent and sleeping bag/pad or check with the leaders/group for sharing possibilities.

Prefer to have a bed and a roof? Reserve your lodging at the Meyers Country Inn.  Rustic, cozy, with breakfast included.

Options to extend your trip: Humboldt Redwoods State Park is a 4.5 hour drive north from San Francisco. Enjoy exploring the Bay Area or the wild California coast before or after our retreat.  Visit wineries or venture to rocky tide pools. An abundance of options awaits you.
